The world is experiencing an explosive growth of IT at the moment. There have been tremendous impacts of IT on the trade, commerce and industries in the world. You know, the developed countries, due to their strong technological base, are leading the world in this sector and have achieved a high degree of standard of living, primarily because of their ability to use IT as the effective tools for realizing their national objective. On the other hand, the developing countries have fallen behind in the IT race because of their awareness in the proper use of IT. In Bangladesh, Information Technology was in a backward position in terms of informational generation, utilization and applications. But now it is getting its speed in terms of every supporting facility and active participation by the local developers.
IT sectors could be a superb export earning source for Bangladesh. As an emerging economy government is committed and has declared the software export as one of the thrust sectors. There is a bright & long term prospects in the IT sector of Bangladesh due to cheap labor cost, undoubted Government support in this area, it is assumed that this sector will be a major export-earning source of the country in the near future.
